Performance Specifications

The 2018 Kia Cadenza is powered by a 3.3L V6 engine, an 8-speed automatic transmission, and a front-wheel drivetrain. The EPA-estimated specifications have not yet been released for the 2018 Cadenza, but the 2017 Cadenza has the same mechanical configuration. It gets the 2017 Cadenza a respectable EPA-estimated 28 highway/20 city/23 combined MPG.1 We can only assume that these specifications will be similar in the new 2018 model.

As for power output, this engine is just as powerful as it is efficient. Standardly, you’ll get an impressive 290 horsepower and 253 lb-ft of torque with the 2018 Cadenza.

One bonus feature you’ll find is the ability to toggle between four driving modes. Switch between Comfort, Eco, Sport, and Smart modes to alter steering and throttle response based on your driving conditions.

2018 Kia Cadenza Safety Ratings

The 2018 Kia Cadenza has been rated as a 2018 TOP SAFETY PICK by the Insurance Institute of Highway Safety.2 A sedan has to earn a prestigious rating like this, though, which the Cadenza has done with flying colors.

The 2018 Cadenza has a plethora of advanced standard safety features, such as the Traction Control System, Brake Assist System, Tire-Pressure Monitoring System, and Impact Sensing Auto Door Unlock.

Additionally, you can opt for available active safety features like the Smart Blind-Spot Detection System. This system not only monitors your blind spots but will even go as far as applying gentle brake pulsations to get you back on track when you start to veer into another lane with a vehicle in it.
