As Kia has become a frontrunner in the auto market during recent years, their cars have been getting a lot of attention, including this sporty and compact little car—the 2019 Kia Forte. Packed with technological upgrades and looking every bit the part of a car for the millennium, the Forte offers a great drive when you’re making your way around the Avon, Indianapolis, and Plainfield areas.
At Andy Mohr Kia, we know you want the facts about the Forte, so we’ve compiled a brief outline of all the hot details you want. With this guide, you can get the lowdown on the Forte and find out a little bit more about the car before you get behind the wheel.
Engine and Transmission
Kia did their best to keep the secrets of the 2019 Forte before it launched, we know that the standard engine is an impressive 2.0L Atkinson cycle inline-4 that offers up 147 horsepower. This is similar in numbers to what the previous Kia was capable of, but drivers will have more choices for their vehicle in the 2019 version.
The standard transmission available in the Forte is a 6-speed manual, but drivers also can choose the automatic version. While the older version was a traditional 6-speed manual transmission, this model year’s offering is a continuously variable transmission (CVT). This marks the first Kia vehicle to be marketed using the CVT.
Tech Lovers Dream
Any review of a newer vehicle has to include a section on the technology that it contains as these features are ever-changing. In the new Kia, on top of their already impressive infotainment system, drivers will get to enjoy the advantages of Android Auto™ and Apple CarPlay™ for maximum connectivity with any phone. Add in the Bluetooth® capability and your car and phone will be working together, seamlessly.
In addition to all the phone connectivity and the Kia infotainment system, drivers will be able to control nearly everything from an 8-inch touchscreen monitor that sits in a horizontal position on the driver-centric dash. Control most of the features of your car within one centralized location without issue in the 2019 Forte.
Additional Options
As with any car, drivers will have the choice to add some extras to their vehicles, either with additional packages or with a jump to a higher trim level. Of these additional options, the wireless charging pad is one of the cooler features you can add. This feature allows your vehicle to charge your phone, tablet, or other devices without the necessity of cumbersome, and always in the way, cords.
Some of the top add-ons come in the form of driver safety features. The 2019 Forte gives drivers the options of achieving the ultimate in safety with Adaptive Cruise Control and Blind Spot Monitoring. In addition, you can also choose to outfit your new car with Lane Keeping Assist and Forward Collision Warning.
