Teachers’ Treasures

Building a home requires the proper tools and building materials, just as maintaining a car requires the right parts. It’s the same for education. Without the proper supplies and materials, children will not be able to build a solid foundation of knowledge, which can set them up for a bright and rewarding future.

Teachers’ Treasures is a charity that’s been helping students and teachers in the Avon, Indianapolis, and Plainfield areas get the supplies they need. Since they opened their doors in 2000, they have continued to expand upon their mission and services, and they need your help to take it to the next level.

The Mission of Teachers’ Treasures 

Currently, over 100,000 Indianapolis students are affected by poverty. Breaking from the vicious cycle of poverty begins with education, since the right schooling can help set kids on the right path for success. This “free store for teachers” is packed with everyday supplies as well as specialty materials teachers need to build a strong curriculum.

Through hard-working hands and loving hearts, the team at Teachers’ Treasures has been able to assist nearly 6,000 teachers a year across 254 schools.

How Can You Help?

Children are our future, so get involved today to help better your community as a whole. Of course, Teachers’ Treasures is always happy to accept donations of money and supplies, but if you’re looking for a more hands-on experience, host a supply drive or visit one of their events.

Their annual Donut Dash 5K is fun for the whole family! Participate in the run, and halfway through, you’ll be challenged to chow down on a dozen donut holes—a great way for your sweet tooth to get a fix and to raise money for children in the process.
