What Are Hybrid Vehicles?

When you look at Kia hybrid cars, you’ll immediately notice that the biggest and most apparent difference is that they have an internal combustion engine (ICE). This ICE is supported by an electric motor that’s recharged through regenerative braking or through the ICE itself. The electric motor is there to assist the engine during acceleration and can occasionally take over completely during low-speed cruising or idling. The latter benefit is that you can reduce fuel consumption and emissions.

Those emissions are lower than those of a more traditional gasoline-powered machine. Like we said, this is due in large part to the benefit of having the electric motor assisting it. This also lends itself to a longer driving range, as a Kia hybrid vehicle can keep going long after the electric battery runs out. You’ll just need to find a gas station and you’re good to go.

Finally, the cost of a hybrid automobile tends to be cheaper than that of an electric vehicle (EV).

What About Electric Vehicles?

Electric Car

Kia electric vehicles set themselves apart by being fully electrified. This means that their main power source is an electric motor and a battery pack. This changes things as without an ICE, it doesn’t produce any emissions, making it a greener choice than its competition. Plug-in electric vehicles (PEVs) can be recharged via a charging station or wall outlet.

You can begin to see the major differences between the two types of Kia vehicles. An EV is going to be a cleaner and greener ride that gives you distinct peace of mind. Its range is often significant, depending on factors like charge level and driving habits. Cost-wise, EVs tend to be more expensive than a traditional Kia Hybrid vehicle, due to the pure electric battery.
