Sorento Indicator Lights electronic stability control

The Sorento’s dashboard boasts many different indicator lights simply to let you know when certain parts or systems are in use or turned on. The Sorento’s indicator lights include:

  • 4WD LOCK Light – This light, which shows a 4WD system and the word “LOCK,” tells you when the 4WD lock is activated.
  • Cruise Set Light – When you set a cruise speed, an indicator light will come up that says “SET”.
  • Electronic Stability Control (ESC) Light – This light shaped like a swerving car lets you know when this system is activated.

  • Front Fog Light – Turning your fog lights on will cause an indicator light shaped like a half-circle with slanted lines and a squiggly line through them to pop up.
  • Front Passenger Airbag Light – This passenger-shaped light, which features a circle with an “X” through it, tells you when the front passenger airbag is disengaged.
  • High Beam Light – When your high beams are on, you’ll see a light come up on your dashboard shaped like a half moon and horizonal lines.
  • Turn Signal Light – Using your turn signals will cause arrow-shaped indicator lights to come on.

Sorento Warning Lights

On top of the many indicator lights the Sorento has, it also sports quite a few warning lights. These lights let you know when there’s an issue with a part or system in your vehicle. Some warning lights you need to know include:

  • Anti-Lock Brake Light – A light shaped like a circle with “ABS” inside of it will come up when your anti-lock braking system isn’t functioning correctly.
  • Brake Fluid Light – If your brake fluid is low, a circle with an exclamation point will pop up.
  • Charging System Light – A battery-shaped light will light up if there’s a problem with your charging system or battery.
  • Engine Oil Pressure – If your engine oil pressure is low, a light shaped like an oil can will light up.
  • Low Fuel Level Light – When you’re running low on fuel, a fuel-pump-shaped light will illuminate on your dashboard.
  • Malfunction Light – Any engine malfunctions will be indicated by a dashboard light shaped like an engine.
  • Seat Belt Light – If you or one of your passengers isn’t wearing a seatbelt, a light shaped like a passenger wearing a seatbelt will warn you.

    tire pressure warning light

  • Tire Pressure Monitoring System Light – If your Tire Pressure Monitoring System senses that one of your tires is low on pressure, it’ll let you know by illuminating a tire-shaped light with an exclamation point in it. If your tire has a tear, you may want to consider new tires for your Sorento.
