Stinger Warning Lights: Your Guide

Kia Malfunction Indicator Lamp

Without further ado, here’s a list of some of the most serious warning lights/icons on the Kia Stinger:

  • Malfunction Indicator Lamp: This is also known as the Check Engine Light, which is why its symbol looks like an engine. In some ways, this light is a bit of a catchall. It could indicate that there’s a problem with your engine, or it could just mean that you need to schedule a service appointment right away.
  • Charging System Warning Light: If your electrical systems aren’t working properly, your Stinger will tell you by lighting up this battery symbol (complete with plus and minus symbols).
  • Engine Oil Pressure Warning Light: Driving around with improper oil pressure can be extremely dangerous for your engine. This light—an oil can with a drop coming out—will promptly alert you.
  • Anti-Lock Brake System Warning Light: This symbol are the letters “ABS,” which stand for the Anti-Lock Brake System, within a circle, within a parenthesis. You need such a feature to ensure that your brakes are working properly, so this is an emergency repair.
  • Air Bag Warning Light & Seat Belt Warning Light: These indicate that there’s an issue with the air bag or the seatbelt, and they look like either an air bag or a seatbelt, respectively.

  • Low Tire Pressure Warning Light: Today, cars produced for American roads must come with a TPMS (Tire Pressure Monitoring System). So, when the system detects that your tire pressure is too low, it’ll alert you on your dashboard. Contact us if you’d like to fill them up.

As we said, these are some of the most critical warning lights and dashboard icons that your Kia Stinger has. If any of them come on and stay on, you should pull over to a safe place, stop driving, and set up an appointment as soon as possible. Our Andy Mohr Kia team would be more than happy to help you out.
