Kia Sportage: Performance Specs 

In a crossover vehicle, it’s important to have an engine that can add a little oomph without sacrificing too much fuel efficiency.

The standard engine in the LX and EX trim levels is a 2.4L 4-cylinder. This powertrain is able to produce 181 horsepower, but it still maintains an EPA-estimated 30 MPG highway and 23 MPG city gas mileage with the front-wheel drive configuration.1

The top trim level, however, is a little different. The SX Turbo trim, as you can imagine, comes with a 2.0L 4-cylinder that bumps your horsepower up to 240. As turbo engines are highly efficient, too, this trim still maintains an EPA-estimated 26 MPG highway and 21 MPG city.1

Smooth & Steady

A perfect complement to this body structure then is the Dynamax™ All-Wheel Drive (AWD) system, which is available on all Sportage trim levels. It replaces front-wheel drive with a smart system that can deliberate over traction requirements on different road surfaces.

Ultimately, Dynamax™ AWD can apply power to the right wheels to keep you on track, even if you’re driving in the snow or on sand. You’ll always have stability.

2019 Sportage Interior Space 

Its handling and performance are a big part of the reason why we feel the 2019 model is so well-suited for road trips, but the Sportage interior space is a big part of that too.

This crossover seats up to five people and offers a total of 129.3 cubic feet of passenger space. Just up front, the driver and front passenger will have 41.5 inches of legroom and 39.3 inches of headroom.

Behind the second row, there’s still room for all your luggage. There’s 30.7 cubic feet available with the seat up, and as much as 60.1 cubic feet with the second row folded down.
