Kia Sorento History 

Debuting in model year 2003, the Kia Sorento was originally a truck-based, body-on-frame SUV. Available 4-wheel drive made it a formidable off-road contender. The second-generation Sorento added a tiger-nose grille and was the first vehicle in the Kia lineup to use the intuitive UVO infotainment system.

Now in its third generation, the Sorento is a crossover SUV with plenty of power. From its powerhouse V6 engine and 8-speed automatic transmission, you’ll see an incredibly smooth and accelerative drive.

This SUV has earned several awards over the years, and it recently stuck a feather in its cap by adding the 2019 TOP SAFETY PICK+ award from the IIHS. It’s just one more way the Sorento prioritizes safety behind the wheel.

Kia Sorento Style 

The Sorento has recently seen a facelift, with a new grille and refreshed headlamps. These elements draw from design cues of other models in the Kia lineup. Inside, expansive windows and an available dual-pane panoramic sunroof lend an airy feel to the cabin.

Materials are top-notch: This SUV is quite luxurious in higher level trims. Available Nappa leather is pliable and soft to the touch, and it comes in your choice of a sporty Black Metallic or a warm and airy Terracotta that contrasts well with the dash and center console.

Kia Sorento Configurations

There are six trim levels for the Kia Sorento, and each of them offers standard front-wheel drive (FWD). On all but the base trim, all-wheel drive (AWD) is available for some extra traction on the roads.

Every version of this SUV offers three rows of seats, so you can seat up to seven people in the cabin. The first two rows are roomy enough for adults, while the third row is ideally sized to accommodate two kids.

You can configure this vehicle for maximum cargo space, too. Fold the second and third rows, and you’ll have a cavernous 73 cubic feet of space to work with—that’s enough room to move some furniture items!
